Lemon Grass, popularly called Fever Grass in Jamaica, is said to have its genesis between Africa and Asia. Its most widely used in Jamaica when boiled as a tea. As its Jamaican name suggests (fever grass), its used to lower fever, and to treat other conditions such as to alleviate flu symptoms and even lower blood pressure. The plant through its oil extract, has since evolved into a wonder plant, with the oil (Citronella) being used as an insect repellant, muscle pain reliever, and is used in aroma therapy.
